Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is the world’s largest celebration for Entrepreneurship, celebrating creativity, innovation and job creation, and without doubt, it has been an amazing form of publicity nationally and internationally for entrepreneurs!

 During this week EDC the Nigeria partners with entrepreneurs to hold various events; from conferences to organized walks. Every year Nigeria never fails to raise the bar higher and higher with her involvement with GEW.

Venue:Muri Okunola Parks & Gardens Adeyemo Alakija, Victoria Island. Lagos (Starting Point)

Time: 7am Date: Saturday 12th November

The GEW Walk for Entrepreneurship jump starts the activities for the week and aims at physically raising awareness and promoting entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation and job creation. The GEW walk will take place in six different geopolitical locations within Nigeria including Lagos.

Time: 9am-1pm.

The first event of the week coined ‘Make It Work,’ is one that focuses on effective online method for job placement and management. It will consist of informative talks, facilitated by business consultants. There will be an open discussion and interactive session that will give participants the opportunity to ask questions and network. This event is guaranteed to get entrepreneurial creative minds thinking about how they can strategically hire the right staff for their businesses.

‘Hangout  With Creative Minds  is an event that will bring together successful players in the creative industry to discuss the way out in this economic recession period and spot creative and innovative opportunities that will provide access to market.

Entrepreneurs will also have the opportunity to exhibit and sell their products at the event. There will also be a runway at the event.

 

Youth Entrepreneurship Dialogue

Venue: Lagos Business School, KM 22, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Ajah, Lagos.          

Time: 9am-2pm 

The Youth Entrepreneurship Dialogue is an event that brings together fresh graduates, youth corpers and students from tertiary institutions to discuss and discover their entrepreneurial instincts and also helps to explore opportunities to market and employment. There will also be an entrepreneurial fair by the LBS- MBA students. Startups will have the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to Angel Investors and other big- time entrepreneurs. Last year’s event, ten been innovative ideas may receive a grant- from Angel Investors.

Enterprise Day for Women is an event that focuses and highlights the various challenges in the society that prevents female entrepreneurs from scaling up and being appreciated. Successful female entrepreneurs come together to discuss these prevailing issues and map out positive ways to tackle these challenges through sharing their experiences and offering strategic suggestions  that could help the women to scale – up successfully.

 

 Agro-Ignite

The Agro-ignite’ conference became necessary given the current economic down town in the country, particularly with the fall in the oil sector. Considering the GEW objective, whereby creativity, innovation and job creation are celebrated in a more concentrated manner, organizing such conference on agricultural becomes evidently crucial. As agriculture is being repositioned as one of the key drivers of the Nigerian economy, it is believe that the conference would not have come at a better time.
